Patients seek home health care for a variety of reasons. Most home health nurses aid senior citizens who want to remain in their own homes but need assistance with dressing, bathing, housework, and medical care. Other home health professionals care for patients who have complex treatments, chronic diseases, disabilities, or who recently underwent surgery. They also may care for new mothers and newborns who are in need of further education and support.
