Valerie writes, “My Alaska vacation was the trip of a lifetime! It was my yearly mother-daughter trip, and we were there for 2 weeks. The first week was onboard the Coral Princess and the second week was on land from Anchorage to Fairbanks. This photo was taken in Glacier Bay next to the famous Margerie Glacier. Our cruise ship was on the smaller side, so we were able to get up close to many of the glaciers like this one. Just after this photo was taken, a huge slice of the glacier calved off with the most incredible thunderous sound!
