Travel Nurse Jobs that make a difference |
Working at a top-rated hospital can do a lot for your career. Most are found in urban centers throughout the U.S. and can expose you to new technology and methods, train you on state-of-the-art equipment and maybe even put you on a cutting-edge surgical team or in an ER where you can save lives everyday.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks “America's Best Hospitals” based on scope of expertise and specialty scores. Seventeen out of 5,462 made it to the Honor Roll this year, making 50 States Staffing proud to say: “We staff America’s Best Hospitals!”
Below are the hospitals at the top of the 2007 Honor Roll. We have contracted with over 80% of these Honor Roll hospitals as well as thousands of other top-rated facilities located throughout the country.
In the U.S. News categories, hospitals were awarded two points if they ranked at or close to the top in a specialties category and one point if ranked slightly lower.

| Travel Nursing Testimonial |
Travel nursing has given us the opportunity to travel to exciting places where we can explore and enjoy life to the fullest!
My wife and I are 40 something RN's with an empty nest (ie...the kids are grown) and a new lease on life. Travel nursing has given us the opportunity to travel to exciting places where we can explore and enjoy life to the fullest. Even our dog is happier!
When other travel nursing companies told us that we did not have enough experience and it was too early to begin looking for positions, our Placement Consultant at 50 States Staffing, got us three interviews with interesting hospitals in geographic locations where we wanted to go live. Now we are making more money, our rent and utilities are paid, and my wife even gets an extra thousand a month housing stipend because she's living in my free apartment.
And our apartment rocks! We're a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway in Asheville, North Carolina, where there are awesome trails for hiking and jogging and unreal views from the highest peak east of the Mississippi River (Mount Mitchell). Our apartment has a great fitness center, pool, tennis courts, free carwash, business center and tons of parking. We're convenient to everything including work.
The hospital and the units we're working on are wonderful and the people are friendly. Our orientation was thorough. Even the food in the hospital is great if you can believe that. We're excited about other places in the country we can travel and explore, learn, and grow!
Thanks to 50 States Staffing we are now living our dream life and earning great income!

Travel nursing is so much easier when you’re well-rested.
So it’s time to ask: “Are you getting a good night’s sleep?”
Getting enough sleep lately?
Without getting technical, a good night’s sleep is when a travel nurse goes to bed tired and wakes up feeling rested. This is not as difficult as many make it seem, and doesn’t necessarily involve costly prescriptions or sleep therapy. On some nights, six hours of sleep is adequate to feel rested, but on others eight or ten. |

| 1 |
You need to go to bed tired. But not tired from travel nursing overwork. Tired from being productive and using your energy wisely. Avoid eating three to four hours before sleep, and if you do have CATs (caffeine, alcohol, tobacco) have your last at least five hours before bedtime. The older a travel nurse you are, the more your sleep will be adversely affected by CATs. Do not underestimate them. |

Some kind of physical exercise is a must, says the American Heart Association. The AHA recommends you exert your heart for at least 20 to 30 minutes daily. Exercise lightly before a travel nursing shift and more vigorously after. The less stored energy you have in the form of calories at the end of the day the better you’ll sleep. |
| 3 |
Leave work at the office. Ten to 12 hours of caring for others is enough. Detach yourself from work with quality distractions like exercise, education, meditation, yoga, reading and hobbies. |
| 4 |
When going out for the night, make sure that you’ll be able to get plenty of rest before your next travel nursing shift. Eat and drink early, dance hard. |
| 5 |
EAT ORGANIC. You’ll sleep better if you have fewer toxins in your body from processed foods, preservatives, pesticides and herbicides. |

Next month we’ll talk about the benefits of being fit and regular exercise for
travel nurses. Stay tuned! |
